BASECOAT SHOW CAR BLACK DESCRIPTION:

 

#780 Low VOC Show Car Black Basecoat System is an economical automotive basecoat technology that exhibits excellent hiding, metallic and pearl pigment control. A LOW VOC premium solvent automotive basecoat, with excellent hiding for a world class finish.

Suitable Surfaces:
#780 Low VOC Show Car Black Basecoat can be applied to sanded, degreased and prepared structurally sound surfaces. Surface should be primed with a suitable primer before topcoating.
Preparation:
Finish sand with 500-600 grit dry or 600-800 grit wet. Areas to be blended should be prepared using 1200-1500 grit wet or dry, or scuff with a gray scuff pad and suitable Scuff and Clean chemistry. Surface should be thoroughly degreased before and after preparation.

Mixing:
Mix 1 part #780 Low VOC Show Car Black Basecoat with 1 part suitable Urethane Grade Reducer suitable to shop conditions and repair size. Note: Use of anything other than exempt reducer will increase VOC content.

APPLICATION:
Full Panel:
• Apply 3-4 coats or until hiding is achieved allowing 7-10 minutes flash time between coats.
• Allow 20-25 minutes dry time before taping. Allow 10-15 minutes flash time before clear coat application.
Dry Time:
Allow 20-25 minutes dry time before taping. Allow 10-15 minutes before the application of clear coat.
